#Reto512_Reciclaje_Mayo

* For this challenge I decided to use this box from a perfume set. They are vey sturdy in general and I always keep them for something.

* The first thing I did was glue a piece of bookbinding cloth to the side of the box so that the end result looks like a book.

* After that I glued a piece of paper to the front of the box and using some papers and decorations from a paper line made by pebbles inc a few years back, I decorated the front of the box. The idea is to use it to keep the baby’s first clothes. I have kept in a special box or bag all of my children’s firsts clothes so that they can remember later in life their birth day.

* I ended up decorating the inside lid and placed a tag from the same paper line where one can register all the details from the new born baby.

Que tal, gostaram da ideia? O que fariam com uma caixa assim? Espero ter conseguido inspirar-vos um pouco. * Did you like this idea? What would you do with a box like this one? I hope I was able to inspire you a little.

Because life is a story worth sharing, thank you for being part of mine!

ReplyCancel

  • Ana Sousa - Adorei a ideia 🙂ReplyCancel

ReplyCancel

  • MJoão - Que ideia tão gira! Parabéns!ReplyCancel

  • Leonor Carrilho - A ideia é excelente!! Uma inspiração como sempreReplyCancel

  • Maria - Que ideia tão gira! Parabéns!ReplyCancel

* Today I went on live TV to dance Ballet with my daughter and two other Mothers and their daughters. We, Mothers, practiced Ballet when we were younger and after a break, bigger or smaller, we returned as adults, because in honest truth, a ballerina never forgets.

* So to celebrate Mother’s Day and Internacional dance day, we got together to perform a Port de Bras that will for sure live in our memories for many years to come! You can see the full show in the link bellow.

* I took with me a wonderful photo album where I keep the photos of the moments I pass dancing with Leonor at the Ballet, at the rehearsals, shows and even at the Ballet school. The album has some wonderful watercolors painted by the very talented Filipa Crespo, a ballerina herself! I promise to show that amazing piece of work soon!

* But I couldn’t let Mother’s Day go by so I made a postcard that you can frame afterwards and give as a present. So that you can make it at home, here is the step by step.

Vai precisar de * You will need

  • 1 peça de papel de aguarela de 300 gm2 com 23×23 cm * 1 piece of watercolor paper with 300 gm2 with 23×23 cm
  • 1 régua, lápis, compasso e borracha * 1 ruller, pencil, compass and eraser
  • Hello Gorgeous by My Mind’s Eye: papel, enamel dots * paper, enamel dots
  • Stix2: almofadas 3D, cola PVA * foam pads, pva glue

* With a ruler and pencil, trace the two diagonals of the page.

* Mark each “arm” of the cross at 8 cm more or less from the center. With the sharp point of the compass, pin at this point so that you can see it from the other side.

* Turn the page and make a circle with 8 cm diameter with the help of a compass, using the pined point as the center.

* With a sharpie fine pen or similar, write a message along the line of the circle.

* After writing the messages, erase the pencil trace.

* Cut some flowers with the help of a die or a stencil, using papers from the Hello Gorgeous line.

* To give volume to the flowers, cut to the center and overlay two of the petals. You can see on the image bellow how much of a difference this makes. Overlay two big ones and a small one and the n add an enamel dot on the middle.

* With double sided foam pads, glue each flower in the center of each circle. At the center of the page, glue the letters to form the word Mother.

* Last of all, place the paper on the frame. This idea can be used for Mother’s day but for many other occasions as well. You can even replace the flowers with hearts or your children’s drawings.

Gostaram da ideia? O que vão fazer para o Dia da Mãe? E o ballet? * Did you like this idea? What are you going to do for Mother’s Day? And the ballet? I wish you all a very Happy Mother’s Day. I will be spending mine doing the very first 512 Crafts in Lisbon and we will celebrate it with 4 amazing projects!

Because life is a story worth sharing, thank you for being part of mine!

ReplyCancel

I have no idea if this feeling of mine is correct or not, but I am almost certain that the number of songs about friendship is almost the same as the number of songs about love. If it isn’t, it should be. At the same time, friendship is another sort of love so….

This week I was a witness of several acts of true friendship that really impressed me. It feels so rare these days to take time from our busy lives to support a friend in need or to simply perk him up! So many things get in the way of true, unselfish friendship! Not just time honestly, life in general in great part…..

It is probably silly but we do feel embarrassed as grown ups to hold hands with a friend and walk down the road or cuddle him when he is in distress or just out of the blue give him a big hug. All things we easily do as children!

When I was making the photoshoot for the new issue of #lovecraftsmagazine I prepared a Garden tea party photo set to make an article for the magazine. And of course I needed girls to be in it, so my daughter and three nieces were my models. They are a ladder in terms of ages, raging from 6 to 2. They all live close to each other and are so lucky to have their Grandparents house to get together several times a week, while we parents are at work.

I have many cousins as well, with whom I get along very well and one is such a good friend of mine that we call each other sisters. We never lived close to one another but as they say, the heart knows no distance.

But these 4 girls are so very lucky to be able to enjoy each others company on a daily basis. And that creates bonds that are far greater than any blood relation they may share.

On this particular day the weather wasn’t in our favor and soon baby Matilde and Benedita decided they were too cold to be part of anything their Aunt Patrícia needed them to do, so they went, rightfully I have to say, inside.

I am quite sure that if it wasn’t for the amazing talent of Brígida Brito that took all of these photos, and many more, the result would be much less impressive.

And that left the two others: my daughter Leonor and Carolina. They are 8 months apart and I sometimes call them Ebony and Ivory… They are very different in temperament but they are already the best of friends. The chemistry between them is simply astonishing and because of that, amazing images such as this one come to live.

No direction, no guidance, no do this or that. They were genuinely having fun! I love this photo, it is actually one of my all time favorites!. Because it is so authentic, because this is exactly what two best friends do when they are together: they laugh and have fun with each other.

If they were a little bit older I would bet they would be talking about this boy or girl at school, commenting on a teacher they just don’t appreciate very much or arranging everything for the weekend obvious sleepover. Since they are only 4 and 5 I have no idea what makes those lips curl up like that, with an almost mischief smile! How cute they look!

Call me romantic but I think that every year I will make a tea party for these girls and register it with a camera. Maybe even use the same china, probably chipped in years to come. Why? Because I have no doubt that these girls will be BFF’s for life! They will be old ladies and look back at these images and comment on the things I made them do.

Hands that cherish, hearts that give, souls that connect. This is how I envision true friendship. This is how I practice it. This is how I am sure these girls will live it.

It is good to be reminded of the goodness in the world. How no matter what, there is always someone out there, a friend that knows you better than any other human being. Someone you can laugh and cry with, that isn’t bothered when you don’t want to talk but understands when you need to vent about your day or week. Someone that will hold and squeeze your hand at the hardest of times, that will sneakily pass you a hanky so that no one knows you are crying. That will get in an airplane with you to have a weekend to relax and disconnect from the hazards of life

So I am quite sure that if I googled it, a countless numbers of songs about friendship would come up. Do you have a particular one you like? Can you share it with me so I can create a playlist on youtube? I already started but any suggestions are welcome!

I have no idea why, of all the songs out there, this is the one that comes to my mind today. I have shared it’s original version before, but today, because everyday is a good day to say this to a friend, here it is my dears, God only knows what I would be without you!

Because life is a story worth sharing, thank you for being part of mine!

  • Susan Azevedo - these picture are absolutly stunning. They look like something out of a storybook! Beautiful Beautiful scenery! Just lovely.ReplyCancel

Música sobre amizade que me vem logo à cabeça: “You´ve got a friend”- James Taylor & Carole King. Difícil encontrar alguém que genuinamente seja nosso amigo e que realmente “take the time”…ReplyCancel

  • Sharon Crabtree - “That’s What Friends Are For” – Dionne Warwick/Elton John. It says it all .ReplyCancel

* It’s true that the saying goes, April showers brings may flowers and with the amount of rain we have had this has got to become true! But a new month means a new challenge from 512 Ideias.

#Visual_Inspiration512_Abril

* You can see the inspiration for this project on 512 Ideias blog.

* I decided to get out of my comfort zone a bit this time. I wanted to try some Ken Oliver pigments and this was the perfect excuse to do it.

* Layouts is something I don’t generally do, in fact it has been over a year since I had made one. So I decided to get to work and used some old Crate paper pages I still had and mixed it with some Heidi Swapp Project life elements. I ended up doing an A4 size LO which was also a first for me.

* This photo was taken with my phone in Amesterdam and printed with my canon selphy. I absolutely love this photo. I so seldom have time to rest that I embraced this mini trip with all my might!

Bem agora é a vossa vez de pôr mãos à obra! Estou ansiosa para ver os vossos trabalhos! * Know it’s your turn to get started. I can’t wait to see what you have done!

* Because Life is a story worth sharing, thank you for being part of mine!

I think I have said this many times, but I don’t have many photos of myself and my brothers and sister. No idea why really. The fact that the boys now live in different cities and countries makes it hard for us all to be together. So when we do get together, in a special occasion or simply a lunch or dinner at our parents house, there is so much to say that photos are most of the times forgotten.

These are almost a year old and I can count by the fingers in one hand the times after this one when we were in fact together again, all four of us. It saddens me in a way that people who love each other so much, only get to be together now and then, but at the same time I rejoice in the fact that because we love each other so much we can pick up on whatever we were doing the last time we met.

So today is Brothers day and I really, really want to say how much I LOVE my two brothers and sister. Being the oldest I know for a fact I was a pain in the as…. as we grew up. Always the responsible one and the one truly in charge I did not leave things to ever get out of control. Well maybe that one time when we decided to play football in the sitting room and not only brooke on of Mum’s favorite vases but Catarina got a massive bump in her head… But I am so, so proud of what each one of them has become that today I have to shout to the world, André, João and Catarina that this big sister adores and loves you to the moon and back!

We couldn’t do more different things the four of us and I usually say that only my sister has a normal job! One designer, one football coach, one actor, one public relations (the normal job, of course). Our interests couldn’t be more different and although are passions in life have led us to follow different professional careers I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the things we have in common are far greater than those that make us different.

I wouldn’t be a sister if it wasn’t for them. It’s the fact that they exist that made me realize how much I wanted to have children and not just one. It’s the example of care, love and trust we have in each other that I hope my children follow. It’s the fact that we are always there, in the hard and the happy times, in the victories and the defeats, when it’s time for joy and time for tears that makes me feel so proud of this bond that we share and so undeniably loved!

And since today we couldn’t be together and so that we can at least sing together, here is a piece that I am sure will remind you of our childhood and hopefully make you laugh! All my love!

Patrícia
